The present issue of Tidings includes events across the five parishes, from school fetes to the annual Produce Show, raising funds for local causes and bringing people together. We have less to report, but a great many Diary Dates from now until September.
Please keep sending us news of what you are up to in your communities. Chatting to people from Stockton, we learned of their successful fund-raising efforts to build bus shelters this autumn on the Norwich road. In Geldeston there’s concern about the future of the play area above the Kell’s Estate. We have a detailed report about the recent Gillingham Parish Council meeting, but now we shall have to wait until September before we can print reports about other events going on locally.
Have a good summer!
PS – For the September issue the deadline is Friday, 14 August.
New Chair of Norfolk County Council
Margaret Stone has recently been elected Chairwoman of Norfolk County Council for the year. “This means the political side of my life has to take a lesser role as Chairwoman is non-political,” she comments. “I will be unable to attend Parish Councils but will try and send reports and updates. This is a Civic role for Norfolk and gives me an opportunity of meeting a range of local communities across the County.”
