Stockton has 44 inhabitants, the smallest population of any of our five parishes. As such does not receive an annual grant or precept from tax revenues or have its own parish council. It is an active community, however.
A survey showed that people from Stockton and thereabouts were making hundreds of bus trips and would appreciate more protection from the elements as they wait for buses to Norwich, Beccles or Lowestoft. Over several years Stockton has raised enough money to pay for bus shelters on both sides of the Norwich Road.
Fund-raising activities have included popular barn dances held on the Raveningham Estate, and the project has won support from South Norfolk Council, Norfolk County Council, and received welcome donations from the Stockton Town charity and Kirby Cane & Ellingham Parish Council.
