Pedestrian safety in Stockton

<<Tidings, February 2019>>

We are fund-raising for pedestrian safety warning signs on the A146, to be placed in conjunction with the bus stops. These will cost @£22,000. We have several small fund-raising schemes in place as well as seeking bids from charities.

For Christmas we had a QUIZ Sheet with 40 number-based conundrums to solve, which could be bought for £2, with a voucher prize for the lucky winner. This raised £98 for the funds. Many people found it very entertaining and addictive! A second Quiz Sheet will be available from the end of January for entries by Easter. Please contract Clare Seppings; Seppings’ butchers in Beccles or any officer of Stockton Parish Meeting for copies.

Soup lunch

Stockton Church would like to most sincerely thank all of those who attended the fund-raising SOUP LUNCH on November 21st at Laburnum Cottage. Due to the good turnout (22), people’s generosity on the raffle and several very kind donations, we raised over £260 for church funds. We hope to hold one again later in the year.

Thanks also to those supporting both our Carol Service and the Benefice Holy Communion with Bishop David for Epiphany. It was lovely to have the church pleasantly full.

Clare Seppings
