Kirby Cane & Ellingham Parish Council

<<Tidings, April 2019>>

Summary of 18 MARCH meeting.

The Parish Council meeting on 18th March dealt with a number of important, but not particularly exciting, issues.

One was the choice of a maintenance contractor for the footway lights, which the parish council is taking over from South Norfolk District Council from 1 April 2019.  Councillors also decided on a contractor to repair the access bridge to the allotment site, and hopefully the work will be completed on this in the coming weeks.

Other business included the review of policies in preparation for the audit process for the council’s accounts for the end of the 2018/19 financial year, which is fast approaching.

The Annual Parish Meeting will take place on Thursday, 4th April, at 7 pm in the main hall of Kirby Cane Memorial Hall.  The speaker will be Mark Milsom, senior critical care paramedic with East Anglian Air Ambulance. Following Mark’s presentation there will be reports from village organisations and the parish council and then some light refreshments and the opportunity for residents to speak to their parish councillors and other representatives.

Parish and district council elections take place on 2 May 2019.  There are nine seats on your parish council (four for Kirby Cane and five for Ellingham), and any qualifying person over the age of 18 is free to seek nomination for election to one of these seats.  For the qualifying criteria, see and please note the deadline conditions in this issue of Tidings.

The following meeting will be the Annual Parish Council Meeting on
Monday, 13th May.  As always, all residents are very welcome to attend.
