<<Tidings, May 2019>>
Thanks to all who attended the Annual Parish Meeting on 4th APRIL – unfortunately the intended speaker from East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) was not able to be there, but Steve Nunn from Community Action Norfolk stepped in to save the day. He gave a very interesting talk on the organisation’s current initiatives.
After speeches by parish council chairman, John Cook, and the local charities and associations, some stayed for a drink and chat. Hopefully Mark Milsom from EAAA will be able to join us for another event in the future.
District Council elections, 2 May
Three vacancies for parish councillors will therefore exist after early May, and if you would like to join the parish council and meet the residence and other criteria you can be co-opted. Please contact me for further information (contact details below).
If you have any questions about becoming a parish councillor, or indeed about any aspect of the parish council’s business, do please let me know, or approach any of your parish councillors.
Residents who have received a ballot paper can of course vote in the district council elections on 2nd May. Unfortunately for this election anyone wishing to vote will have to go to Broome to do this because South Norfolk Council has determined that Kirby Cane Memorial Hall does not have sufficient disabled access, according to changes in the regulations that have been implemented since the election in 2015.
The Parish Council and Memorial Hall committee will be looking at what can be done to meet the regulations at future parish council meetings.
The following meeting will be the Annual Parish Council Meeting on Monday, 13 May. As always, all residents are very welcome to attend.
Jane Love, Clerk to the Council
