<<Tidings, June 2019>>
The Annual Parish Council Meeting, on Monday, 13 MAY, is always a busy evening, especially in an election year.
New Councillors – The Parish Council was pleased to welcome a newly elected councillor, Richard Canham, and co-opted James Lally to the council at the meeting. There remain, therefore, vacancies for two more councillors. If you meet the residence and other criteria (take a look at the co-option policy on our website) and would like to join the parish council, please contact Jane Love, the Parish Clerk, for further information.
Council Business – Renewal of the council’s insurance policy, appointments to Parish Council committees, delegation of powers to the clerk, and the appointment of trustees to other bodies within the parish (the Village Charities and Kirby Cane Memorial Hall).
Details of these appointments can be found in the minutes of the meeting, which are posted on the parish council website. Councillors also adopted the Parish Council accounts for the year ended 31 March 2019, which will now be sent to the external auditor.
The Playground Committee announced that Ellingham School’s
Environment Club had volunteered to litter-pick at the playing field once a month. Councillors applauded their initiative and agreed to fund ten litter-pickers to assist them.
Soon there will be some very interesting historic images of the village for all to share! The Computer Club photo archive is going to be uploaded to the Signpost website ( http://ekc-cc.btck.co.uk/Share/Localphotos ) and a link will be added from the parish council website.
The next parish council meeting will take place on Monday, 15 July, and all residents are, as always, very welcome to attend.
Jane Love, Clerk to the Council
