Gillingham school fête.
The event in July, at the end of the summer term, was well attended. Everyone, I think, enjoyed the live music by local band Best of Both. It was a fab atmosphere with people enjoying the meet and greet with Unicorn Alpacas from Shipmeadow, and many great stalls and exhibits (chainsaw carvings, Tots Tails and others). The children also helped run several stalls including Nerf Out and Balloon Dart.
These and games such as the jam-jar Hoopla were a great success, bringing in lots of money for the Friends of Gillingham St Michael’s Primary Academy. We raised an amazing amount, almost £1,200. I would like to thank everyone who attended and all the helpers who made the day so successful!
The Friends will meet in September to discuss how to use the money to benefit the children. We have been considering a new shed as well as new pieces for our playground such as benches made from recycled materials.
