News from Gillingham Village Hall

Tidings, October 2019

New members have joined the management committee

which more hands to help and fresh ideas. We want to know what you, our local community, would like to see going on in the village hall.

Throughout September we have been holding coffee mornings every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. We started on Sunday 1 September by joining the world’s biggest coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support. So many of us have been touched by cancer we thought it would be a lovely way to bring the village together and help such a worthy cause. Our coffee mornings in September raised £312 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We shall continue our coffee mornings in October, raising money for a different charity. If you would like to help, by donating a cake, for example, we would be most grateful. Pop in on the day or call Lesley on 07768-520867 to arrange collection. We shall be open from 9 am to 12 noon for breakfast baps, cake, savouries and drinks.

Sundays can be a long day for many, and we thought it would give people a chance to sit and have a chat with others. We have a lovely enclosed patio area, so cyclists are welcome to join us with somewhere safe for your bikes. Well-behaved dogs on leads will be welcome in the enclosed patio area too.

We look forward to seeing you at the village hall to find out what we can offer the community.

Lesley Porter
vice chair, Village Hall Committee
