At ST MICHAEL’S SCHOOL (Gillingham)
On Friday, 7 February, our school took part in the NSPCC “Numbers Day”, during which the entire day was dedicated to maths.
In the morning all the children made their own 100-bead string which they can use during their maths lessons. These are a really great resource for all sorts of maths for people of all ages.

Our children spent the afternoon investigating measurement. Parents were invited to support and investigate with their children, and it was lovely to see so many of them. Together children and parents looked for links between their wrists, neck, waist and heights; they created stars using only 2D shapes; and there was even an investigation using the Fibonacci Sequence.
