It has been great to have children back in school since September; we are very proud that our children are so resilient, adaptable and have coped well with the changes we have put in place to keep them and our staff all safe.
We have now had to go digital and have videoed events and put them on our website for our parents and community to enjoy. Our Harvest Festival was our first virtual event. The children enjoyed sharing their work, poems and even a signing song! Every year we ask for donations of food for local food banks and were pleased to receive 84 kgs of food, which equates to a staggering 120 meals.
On Remembrance Day, our children watched a video made up of poems that they had written and then listened to The Last Post being played by two Year 6 boys on the saxophone and clarinet, followed by a whole school, socially distanced 2-minute silence.
Reception class has started to learn songs for their Nativity and soon the whole school will be enjoying Christmas activities and remembering why Christmas is a special time of year. We hope to be able to share some songs from our annual KS2 Carol concert, and other activities with you on our website: www.ellinghamandwoodton.co.uk
