We were doing so well …
But now – excluding the periods of lockdown — Geldeston is suffering from an increase in not only speeding but also vehicle size and quantity. Even when the speed check display (SAM2) is in operation excess speeds are increasing and this danger is compounded by the number of large trades vehicles. The issue is particularly prevalent along the straight section of The Street.
The Speedwatch Scheme proved that awareness worked, and villagers commented on, and were grateful for, this. Sadly, we no longer have the benefit of this Scheme. But wouldn’t it be a joy to see all users of our village roads contributing to the safety and relative peace of this village?
